Devil May Cry

The character Trish in the original story sought out Dante for a job that had ties with his past and reveals that she knows a lot about him than most people do. Her cover was to aid Dante into putting a stop to an evil plan which the emperor of the underworld, Mundus, is set to return to rule the human world. This was all a ploy to lure Dante to a remote island for his demise at the hands of his father's adversary. Being created by Mundus, Trish is a devil molded in the likeness of Dante's mother to win his favor. This plan falls apart when her feelings for Dante grew during her time with him on Mallet Island.

Devil Ate Pie

Trish knows a lot about Dante's secret demon hunting life and his tragic misfortune. What she didn't know is what Dante is doing these days. As she was not informed of his lucrative culinary business, she was still able to sway Dante with knowing a lot more about him and his family's rival enemy than she originally led on. In this version of the story, it was his mother's humor paired with her likeness that Trish was able to convince Dante to follow her to a remote island where the big bad awaits.
